Thailand Poker Summit - in conjunction with Asia Poker Sports Association (APSA)

About 100 years ago, Thailand wrote in their laws, poker = gambling. Yes it specified the word poker. Today, we just had the inaugural poker summit in Thailand, in a sports ministry building, attended by local ministers and delegates from 11 countries, covered by numerous media outlets. In a world that is ever changing, why do we still stubbornly follow some archaic rules? Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it's bad.

20 years ago, poker was legalized in the Philippines. Since then, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam has some form of legalized poker. In Japan, poker is even taught and played by children. Last year, Mongolian courts finally recognized poker as a sport. When will other Asian countries follow suit?

I lived my life with an adventurous heart. I used to have a goal of learning one new thing a day. I love to visit places I have never been before, learn new languages, instruments, try new types of food. What gets my blood boiling are people who reject things without even trying. They have set their prejudices on certain things and they end up missing out on so much in life! My partner had a bad experience as a kid with spoiled coconut milk, so she avoided all foods that contained it. But now she gets to enjoy so many types of dishes because she was willing to give it another chance.

99% of people who oppose poker, or brand poker as gambling have never played the game before. Just because it involves chips and cards, it must be a gambling game right? In November 2025, The International Mind Sports Association (IMSA) officially recognized poker as a sport. Hundreds of books have been written about poker strategy. People pay top dollar to be coached by top pros. There are poker schools that train players, from as young as 6 years old (in Japan).

I find myself having to juggle getting support from my fellow compatriots and creating activities, events to generate awareness for non players. I don't know why I took on such a big task, but someone has to do it. The progress is low, the road is long, the obstacles are many, but together with my friends from Asia and APSA, I hope it will amplify our voice and impact.

If you want to support us or find out more information you can follow us on Instagram or email admin@malaysiapokerfederation.org. We are always on the look out for volunteers and sponsors.

The inaugural World Poker Games Taipei

It was my honor to be invited to the inaugural World Poker Games (WPG) held in Taipei. I've known Anh Nguyen since the Pro Poker Club days. Those were pretty fond memories as they were the early days of my poker career.

In the past 8 years, I have witnessed the explosion of the Vietnamese market, the wave of the Taiwanese and emergence of the Malaysian players. I would say Anh Nguyen was super involved in the MTT poker boom in Asia. If I remembered correctly, Pro Poker club was the first in Asia to break thousand player fields and completely changed the landscape. Since then, Taiwan and Vietnam jostled for the pole position, breaking record after record, both worthy to be the strongest MTT market in Asia.

Why the history lesson and the trip down memory lane? The unfortunate part is I can see a decline in the Taiwanese market. There are many brands that faced overlays because the local market is exhausted. I witnessed more players playing TLTs (time limit tournaments) at one club than at side events with a 200x TLT buy in guarantee. WPG was also in the same boat but with a smart satellite strategy, they managed to close the gap in the major events. Even though overlays are good for players, it is not healthy for the industry. Instead of trying to slice a shrinking pie, I hope the organizers and venues can work together to bring in new blood and bring back old ones. Some people often ask me what purpose does MPF serve. We are here to stretch the longevity and sustainability of the industry.

I did not have a good result all series, barring a sun run in a satellite claiming the first ticket out of 20. The WPG staff were great and I enjoyed their creativity with the daily media. However I did have some poor experiences with APA dealers. Maybe that is contributing to the market decline as well.

I have no regrets of attending WPG, just wished I had better results to report. But overall I had a good time, I played reasonably well except for a few mistakes. Those who followed my stories probably felt some of my pain of how I lost most of my hands. I believe my luck will change at some point, but I just hope I will still be around to capitalize on that.

Experiencing Poker Dream 21 and Genting Culture

As a poker traveler, it makes me happy to know there's poker on home turf. I can only imagine the struggles the founders of Poker Dream had to finally get a regular series in Malaysia. In poker terms, you might say Poker Dream was dealt a series of bad hands, such as the short sighted, backwards business culture of Genting and the introduction of the sales and service tax but I am so happy to see Poker Dream's innovation and pushing for the best in the realms within their control. It is obvious to me this time round they have stepped up their game. They've improved their customer service levels (at least the ones I have encountered), try to make the cash out process as painless as possible, introduced live reporting, facial recognition for the photo library, added in lots more freerolls, etc. I can really appreciate that effort as a player. Just as we can't always get great hands, we try to improve on other aspects of our game and even being dealt marginal hands, we can make the best of it.

I made it through day 1 of the Malaysia Open only to bust out of day 2 on hand number 2. I then jumped into the heads up tournament drawing possibly the second toughest opponent of the field. A Chinese pro with an impressive résumé including the recent SHR trophy. He was super aggro at first but later held back which I took as a sign of respect of my play. I also switched gears all the way and made a few top plays including bluff catching with bottom pair and once with ten high. It was an intense battle and I could feel my stamina waning. We swap leads like a yoyo but in the end he had a series of good hands when I had second best. Took a spot with my last hand that I might have been able to give up had more in my tank. One suggestion for the heads up is having regular breaks because by then we were 2.5 hours into the match without one. Heads up is way more tiring as you do not have any downtime. But overall I felt I played well, without fear, and gave a tough player a run for his money. I also fired twice in the main event but no bueno.

One of the little things, and the way the staff explained it

It's always refreshing to play at Poker Dream Malaysia because it's a time to meet old friends and make new ones. Seeing so many people putting on the MPF patch proudly without asking for anything in return, and for them to represent the federation and our nation with poise and pride always warms my heart. Sometimes we take the little things for granted. A smile, a hand shake, a nod, a fist bump, a pat on the back, a complimentary word, a congratulations, a like on a post, a positive comment, putting on a patch, wearing a jacket, for me they are the fuel I need to keep going. Years ago I came across a lady helping poor people in Indonesia voluntarily. I started to support her financially whenever I could. To our shock not only some people did not support her work, they actually had negative comments about it. I remember saying to her that everyone should participate in a good cause. If they can't participate, then they can give money. If they can't give money then they should give encouraging words. If they can't say anything positive, then they should keep their mouth shut. Light bringers are rare on earth, so if you see a light, if you can, help. If you can't, the least you can do is not put it out. But I guess if you’re reading this, I might be preaching to the choir.

I can see Poker Dream's culture increasing in care and positivity. Hence I wanted to encourage and support it. But at the same time I can see Genting's culture is still as negative and inconsiderate. I hope more and more Malaysians can wake up. Little things take little effort, but as our ancestors said, "sikit sikit lama-lama jadi bukit". (little by little, after a while it becomes a hill) It only takes a spark to get the fire going, but it also only takes a drop of water to put out a spark.

Revisiting Cambodia and playing at the GOP (Gods of Poker)

I left the workforce in early 2018, at the time not knowing that it was actually perfect timing. We all know soon after there was political turmoil in HK/China followed by COVID19 so had I kept working, I would have likely been out of a job by then anyway. One of the first places I was based out of was Vietnam until my regular game was raided by the police and everyone caught was sent to jail for 6 months, I knew I had to choose a safer environment to grind in, hence Cambodia.

It's funny how life turns out as never in my wildest dreams I would think of living in Cambodia, and now looking back, boy what a time that was. Many of my tablemates or customers were probably from the scam companies we now know about. But at the time I was oblivious of what's happening in the dark corners of the region. It turned out to be a key turning point of my career as I grinded out a living and it also inspired my giving mentality. Although I didn't know what they did, I always assumed many of the Chinese players I played against were bosses of at a minimum - grey area businesses. Some were clearly bad people, some on the run from the law, a few rare ones did feel genuine and were actually nice people. Outside of the few genuine friends I made,  my comfort was I felt like Robin Hood by taking money from the shady guys and giving to others in need.

Used to grind here 6-7 days a week

I eventually left the country not on great terms as I was bullied out of a super profitable position but I chose not to fight it so it always felt bitter sweet returning for a visit. But this time, I got the time to reconnect with some old friends and I felt that I was still loved and missed by some, and I felt touched that my time spent there left a lasting impact years after I had left. The government has since cracked down hard on the scam centers so I think most of them have left, but some that remain now stay on looking for the next money grab opportunity. I even met an old acquaintance who proudly shares his involvement in the scam industry. If that is winning, I never want to win like that.

I have had a rough year so far, so when I had a sun run day 1 of the GOP main it was a welcomed relief. But day 2 quickly sucked all the life from me when I went from 2nd chip leader to bubble boy. I had 4 all ins on day 2 all ahead but did not win any of them. I played the mini main as well and also went from chip leader to out over just two major hands. Experiencing GOP for the first time, I must say the Kraken day 1 has an amazing structure that no one else offers. Especially for someone like me who enjoys playing deep stack poker, it was so much fun. It definitely is something one needs to experience to truly appreciate the beauty of the structure. I hope in the future they can draw in even more numbers and offer higher guarantees as I look forward to playing more of this structure.

During my trip I also had a devastating run at PLO5, winning 1 pot in 2.5 hours. I also ran super bad at OFC, losing 500+ points in 2 hours, a game that I used to play at the highest stakes in Asia. Granted one opponent was not a fish but still he would hit in 1 outer draws where I would miss my 20+ outs. It seems like every decision I make was the wrong one and I am down a pretty massive amount of my bankroll so far this year. But I have taken the time to appreciate the things I have. Looking back to my time in Cambodia and now returning as a visitor, I have come a long way. I am doing much better in so many aspects of my life, being upstuck is nothing I can't handle. I am more matured, and I like to think smarter than I was before, hopefully a better player as well but definitely more disciplined and composed. Sometimes you have to swim a long way against the tide until you catch the big wave.

Until the next one, peace.

Poker Dream 8, Genting Malaysia Report

I was very excited to play my first series of the year. Kudos to Poker Dream, the turn out was amazing. It total exceeded my expectations and I am truly excited to see this kind of response in the Malaysia market. I am also very pleased to see some clear improvements from the organizers, for example the graphic displays, to the now more prominent and grand final table, the media shared during the event, extra floor assistants, VIP buy in sheets, these little things are very encouraging signs. Can't wait to see further improvements and innovations in the upcoming series.

Bye bye money

Back to me, this series was a big fat L for me. 3 ITM, but all shallow ones, and more crucially are my 3 bullets in the SHR all amounting to nothing. I was truly touched by the support of my friends who had complete faith in me. Some even offered to buy 100% of my action, or whatever I was willing to sell, without question. I am just annoyed I couldn't reward their faith with some good ROI. I feel that I played a few spots amazingly, but I also did make quite a few mistakes. Although I have been playing live poker more often than before, my stamina this trip was not what it used to be. I have been battling a bad cough for weeks, couldn't sleep well, and I had a terrible room to boot. Every morning at 9:45am I will hear the loud music from the theme park which was my daily alarm clock. Not very good when some days I played until 3-4am.

Played a great line but was not rewarded

However there were some positives from this series. I met some pretty cool people and made new friends. A few of my students had really good results, one even finished 2nd in a side event. Some made their first ever live ITM. Although they had luck on their side, but luck is when preparation meets opportunity. I've played with some players in this series where even luck hit them straight in the face they will never win because of how badly they played.

I'll be back

Overall this series is now the biggest losing series of my career. But I am thankful that my bankroll is at it's healthiest of my career as well, so it wasn't too hard to take. Funny when you work hard, give your passion and effort, do good and be good, help others without expecting anything in return, somehow good things will happen to you. I see some players complain about their luck. But if some of them looked closely at how they live their lives, maybe they can see they don't deserve good luck. Good things happen to good people. Instead of focusing on getting good things, focus on becoming a good person first. I know "good things" happen to bad people too, but don't worry, their time of reckoning will come. You just focus on bettering yourself.

USOP Hanoi Report (Aug/Sept 2023)

I had a great feeling coming into this series. I studied hard, mentally prepared, my discipline and timing has improved a lot, feeling confident but not over confident, but boy it did not go well. I've had people say that I am a show off but I beg to differ. I share my losses just as much as my wins. What I am trying to do is just document my journey. My highs, my lows, my successes, my failures, earning money from poker businesses, getting ripped off or cheated.... just being transparent about the life in the poker industry. I apologize if I come across as showing off, which was never my intention. And if you read between the lines, I often give glory to God because it is not easy being a Christian poker player.

Hanoi at night (traffic because of Pres. Joe Biden's visit)

This trip I prayed for 3 final tables and a trophy as well. I did come close with a 3rd place finish in the PLO tourney, and had 2 main event tickets from a single satellite. But instead took the 2nd biggest personal loss of my career in a tournament series just behind my WSOPE trip in Rozvadov. When it was down to 3 handed in the PLO, out of the 1.3m chips in play, me and my friend Kar Hou had 1.2m between us. Short stack was all in and I had AJ86 on JJ3 flop. It didn't hold and I went from big stack to out. Happy for Kar Hou who won it though.

My best day this series

Two main event tickets to soften the blow

This month is particularly tough on me as well as I rejected my new contract offer from MiMa which means I won't have the safety net of a fixed salary every month. But one thing that I have learned in my life, is to be thankful in whatever circumstances. Even with the loss of income and a big financial loss this trip, I am not deterred. I have so many good things in my life that I wouldn't want to change it one bit. Many of you have seen the beautiful yummy dinners I come home to, to a loving partner who is the light of my life. I have really good bonds and relationships with the people I love, my family, my friends, my business partners, and I choose to make friends rather than enemies wherever I go. In almost every room I go to, I can confidently say I am the happiest person in it. What more can I ask for?

Made with love

My extra curricular activity - spend time with my girlfriend

A job well done to the USOP team, especially my good friend Alex (CEO) for a record breaking series. How they handled themselves with some hiccups here and there just shows the amazing dedication to the industry. Thanks to those who bought my action even after a dry run quickly snapped up 47% of my action for the next series at Poker Dream Hoian. Thank you for keeping the faith and trusting me. I felt that I played well this series. 6 away from ITM in the Deepstack, Bottom two pairs couldn't hold for a massive pot in Main 1C. Min loss with QQ in the finale high roller.... Most of all, I felt I learned new things this series as well.

On a side note I have been taking on real paying students in the last month. So far 8 people have part ways with their hard earned money to listen to me talk. I hope I have brought them value in helping them improve their game. I am not a top pro by any means, but if someone is interested in leveling up their poker skills to be able to hold their own on most tables, coaching is the quickest and most comprehensive way to get there. To be honest, I actually improve my game when I am teaching too, so a win-win situation. Still feel there's more to 2023 in store for me. Let's see if I can have better news in 2 weeks' time from Poker Dream Hoian.

APT Danang Report

It's been a while since I last played a full APT Series. It is great to see many new faces at the event, including floor staff. There were also some new formats that I played in and found it quite fun, like 80% bounty winner takes all HR, PLO lazy river.

Always nice to be doing the chip races

It was nice to see some old friends as well, especially the APT team some I've known for more than 10 years. My first ever career trophy was an APT event, so the series is extra special to me. It was also nice to start my series with back to back ITMs and an ITM in the main.

First event on the bubble I had AKo and opened UTG, big bully didn't see my open and thought he opened in MP and almost flipped over his hand when everyone else folded. Flop came KT5ssc. I cbet small and he reraised and I am left with shove or fold. Knowing his open range is super wide, but it was also bubble time, I wasn't planning to back off. I jammed he showed K5o, but thankfully the turn A secured my day 2 spot and ITM with a decent stack.

Night exploration of Danang city

Day 2 I ran that stack up to a top 5 stack only to meet with this hand. UTG rips for 17bb and I am on the button looking down at AQo. If I win this hand I would definitely be overall chip leader, but if I lose I still have a playable above average stack so I went with it. He flipped over KQ but hit the K on the river. The immediate next hand I get TT vs KQ again and doubled up another guy. I soon went out shoving Q9 into KJ into the eventual winner.

Immediately after busting I jumped into the Mystery bounty where I ran really well to end the day 2nd in chips. An Australian friend Craig was down to his last 500 in chips when he shoved his KK into my AA. I was rooting for him to win that hand and he spiked a King. Eventually he finished 5th in this event where I fizzled out on day 2 without even one bounty.

Banh Xeo by Grab

I fired 3 bullets in the main event with my third try ended day 1C as chip leader. I made a sick bluff with Q9o on a KT8AA board and ran good to finish day 1 on a high. On day two I had a chance to get a monster stack when my QQ met with AK and AJ all in preflop. Unfortunately K hit and I had to grind the rest of the day out. Ended with a shallow ITM and a lot of could haves.

It's too hot to walk around during the day

I bricked out the rest of the series, with my last hand of the series AA72 losing to KKT5 all in on a 733 flop. But I am glad I wasn't alone this series. It was always comforting to return to my hotel to my biggest fan and supporter. Food in Vietnam in general has always been good and we've had the chance to have some nice meals during this trip.

Drinking my sorrows away

Overall not the result I was hoping for, but I liked how I played, without fear and being creative at times. However I must admit I was being a bit punty with the PLO events but I really needed to let off some steam. Interestingly, 4/6 of the events I played, I was knocked out by the eventual champion. GG, next stop Poker Dream Malaysia. Hope to see you there.

USOP Hanoi Report

I started the year hot, cashing in my first 3 events in Morocco then bricked my second series albeit bubbling the PLO KO event after picking up 7 bounties. So coming to my third series of the year I wanted to turn things around. I'll be honest with you it did not start well. But I want to save you guys from my bad beat stories. Let's just list out all my final hands and you be the judge:

KJ vs 75s
77 vs J8s
A7 vs A9
A9 vs 64o (12bb jam)
KQ vs AT
KK vs AA
KK vs AA
A6 vs K9
TT vs 85s (70bb rejam)
Q2 vs J5o
AQ vs K9
JJ vs 75o (I played this one badly I admit)
A6 vs J8o

Some standard flips, most I am ahead and a couple of KK vs AA coolers. But some aren't even supposed to be there. But despite all that, I managed 3 ITMs including 2 FTs, a 3rd and a 4th. Gotta be thankful for that. If one of two flips went my way I could have finished 2nd or better but I'm pretty happy considering the run I had.

Food is a big part of my trips, but this time round there was a buffet breakfast at the hotel so I rarely went out for food. McDonald's was doing a 50% off Big Mac deal so I had quite a few of those. But I've been to Hanoi so many times the food isn't as thrilling as before. But looking forward to my next trip for some frites, waffles and beer. This trip I definitely put on some weight cause even though I tried to stick to my one-meal-a-day regime, my body isn't used to having breakfast instead of dinner, so when night time comes I get hungry and would eat my second meal. So some days I actually skip the hotel breakfast and let my friends take my place.

I am a bit short from my 2023's target of 150k in cashes and 2 titles. Although I did come close twice this series. But we still have 7 months to go and I have got a very interesting schedule coming up, it is going to be hard to beat my travel schedule of 2023. Thank God for the opportunity and for what I call a career.

USOP Taipei Report

I've missed Taipei so much. Some of my fondest poker memories have been in Taipei. One trophy, 2nd, 3rd, 4th (twice) so after being away for 3 years, I was excited to be back. This time it is for USOP, backed by the same company that owns Upoker. It's extra sweet because Upoker has a special place in my heart with all the history, and now owned and operated by my friends.

Views from Elephant "Mountain"

Almost every event I ran up a good stack

Being it's inaugural event, no one knew the numbers to expect. But not only it surpassed expectations, it broke records for international events held in Taipei! There were also support from players all over the world, as far as Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Mauritius, USA, France etc. A lot of my friends also attended and it was great to see some of them do really well, running deep and taking down trophies.

Nice sunset

I however did not have a great series. I am personally not a fan of the "play to ITM" on day one. It becomes a marathon and quite strenuous. I admit I overplayed a few hands but the key hands I have lost have all been coolers on the wrong side. AJ vs QQ on a AJxQJ run out, 55 vs QQ on 589Qx, AA top set vs K high flush draw. But I did do well in the PLO KO event where I got as low as 5bb and came back to knock out 7 players. I could have played safe to sneak into the money but I played to win and had 45% chance to quadruple up on the bubble. Alas I didn't get there so ended the trip with no ITM record. But it was a fun series.

金峰卤肉饭 yummmm

Me being a foodie, I've always enjoyed Taipei for it's food. Unfortunately on the third day I had a very serious food poisoning incident. I even had fever and chills. But that did not stop me from having my favorite foods, and finding new favorite restaurants there. My best experience was at Sushiro, where they served reasonable priced quality sushi. We went there 3 times during the trip. Needless to say I put on weight this trip, but quickly lost it after fasting as soon as I returned home.

I probably ate 20+ plates of Negitoro this trip

Taipei is a nice place to chill, especially when it has cool weather. I particularly enjoyed the night walks and bike rides. We also took a day to hike up Elephant Mountain for views of the city and Taipei 101. Overall it is a wholesome city to visit and I hope I can return again soon.

Bike ride with boo

Morocco Poker Trip Report Part 2 (The bad)

In most of the cities I was in, I barely saw any other Asians, so I stood out like a sore thumb. Whilst sometimes that is kind of cool, and you get friendly people saying hi or trying to strike a conversation, you also attract scammers, hustlers and beggars. During this trip I voluntarily gave money and food to people I felt needed it. For example one day as I was heading out to a tournament, I saw a guy dumpster diving for scraps of food. I turned around and gave him a 20dh note. A few days later I saw a homeless person sleeping out in the cold. I bought 5 bananas for him for 5dh. So I guess the first guy got like 20 bananas worth. However there were a couple of times I wanted to help but got kind of scammed also. There was one guy in the markets of Tangier asking me for money and as I was reaching for some coins he said no, please buy me food. He took me to a stall and he bought 54dh worth of food, gave me hug and left. I was stunned but okay, at least he seemed happy about it. Another time a woman was selling tissues usually for 1dh each. I felt bad for her so I bought one. I gave her a 10dh coin but she only gave me 5dh change. Oh well, it's not that I mind the money, but I don't like to be cheated.

While I was walking around some towns, you have to be careful where you step because some places are really full of shit. You can see piles of shit on the floor! Of course I didn't take pictures of them but you smell them as you go. There was a corner on a street of Rabat where there were piles of feces. I don't know if they were human, cat, dog or horse but it spoiled my appetite for that day. Most places are not very clean as well especially in Casablanca.

Literally a litter of cats

Stray cats are well treated in Morocco and are healthy and well fed. Stray dogs however are sometimes bullied, kicked at, shooed away. I understand it is haram in Islamic teachings but there are also Muslim dog owners in Morocco who care about the animals too. People seem to turn a blind eye on drinking and prostitution but somehow dogs are a no-no. I saw a poor dog down to her bones and scared of people. It took her a while to have the courage to come near me. I ran to a nearby store and bought her some dog food. After that I continued on my walk. On my way back she found me. She sat up straight in front of me and gestured at me with her paw. She seemed to recognize me and wanted me to pet her. If I lived there I would have brought her home.

Poor girl was scared to walk up to me

There were many times random strangers would give me directions when I look lost but never asked for anything. But there were a couple of times I was scammed. One guy wanted to bring me to his shop. Thankfully he wasn't pushy and I left without buying anything. But the second time two boys brought me to have soup at a stall. When I asked how much it was, they wanted me to pay 5x the normal price. Another lady customer that was with me shook her head in disgust. Even the shopkeeper looked guilty as he collected my money. I knew I was scammed but didn't want to fight it. There were some Moroccans that I have come across that I felt was out to take advantage of me, including one of the hotel hosts. Just don't be too trusting of people. Taxi drivers especially in Marrakesh would take advantage of tourists too. But I must add that I have come across honest ones too and usually I would pay them more than they asked for. Whereas the greedy ones I would just say no. I also witnessed a snatch theft not 10m away from me. I am so thankful it wasn't my phone that was snatched but also felt bad for the guy at the same time. There was also a police station just 30m away.

Those two guys are scammers

As far as poker goes, I didn't like that they allowed smoking on cash game tables. In Tangier they allow 30bb buy ins and in Marrakesh 20bb. It made some games a shove fest. Marrakesh also felt like had an uncapped or pretty high cap rake. On the tourneys most of the tables I played on were soft. However I felt that some of them either didn't like me, or they were ganging up on Asians. But of course there were those who felt bad for me, even made friends with me and told off the local bullies. There was one lady I immediately tagged as a fish. From reading her I knew she had a flush draw, on the turn her body shook so I said she hit a pair with her flush draw and I was 100% accurate. Soon after I had KK. Utg had just opened and I flat. She 3b in position, utg called and I 4b, both called. Flop came J75cc. Utg jammed his small stack, I called, she rejammed and I snap fold my KK. Sure enough she had 77. Imo she was such a fish until later I saw her Hendon Mob had 900K+ in cashes. How can such a bad player win so much? Life is not fair hahaha. Anyway second part of my series I fired twice in the main, first bullet I jammed all in with a straight, he had trips and called. River the board paired. Second bullet I was 1 or 2 levels away from making day 2, I 3b jammed AK was called by AT, runner runner straight. Fired twice again in the deepstack, only highlight was I was on the same table as Lon McEachern.

A more realistic local market

Many Moroccans have a short fuse. I have witnessed at least 6 altercations on the street, strangers yelling at each other, and even bloody fights twice. Taxi drivers are impatient and drive dangerously. Within a nano second of the light turning green they would start honking. A few times some people yelled at me for taking photos. I don't know what the problem was. But it reminded me of rude people from my country doing the same thing to other tourists. Sigh...

Almost all of the Tangier taxi drivers I met were nice

There were those who saw me as a tourist, an opportunity to make money from, someone to take advantage of. Come on, I read people for a living, I can see through every intention. But sometimes I just choose to ignore it. But there are those who wanted me to feel welcomed in their country. Someone who wanted to leave a good impression, wanted to be my friend. Those people make me want to give Morocco a second chance.
